July 2020 ~ RSE Wins Caltrain Broadway-Burlingame Grade Separation Project
RSE was chosen to perform all the railway design improvements including track, railroad signals, railroad systems and OCS, and grade crossing improvements. The project includes raising the Caltrain tracks and lowering Broadway to accommodate a grade separation. The project will include a new raised station platform with street level connections to the center of the platform, a new east side parking lot on Carolan Avenue, and a new grade separated pedestrian undercrossing. To accommodate construction, natural drainage channels will need to be relocated; the existing tracks will need a shoofly with a temporary at-grade crossing at Broadway; right-of-way will need to be acquired, with retaining walls constructed to minimize impacts; and major utilities in the roadway will need to be lowered or relocated.
