Project Engineer

Description:

This position supports the Rail/Transit Division in executing rail and transit contracts for project development and design services. Key responsibilities include managing staff and tasks associated with these contracts, supporting rail design pursuits for major capital programs (light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail), and managing multi-discipline teams to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements. The role also involves leading client and stakeholder meetings and mentoring junior to mid-level staff.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • BA/BS degree plus 5 years of relevant experience

  • Must have a PE license or the ability to obtain one within 3 years of starting.


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • At least 7 years of experience in organizational development and leadership, client service management, and the delivery of program management, design, and/or construction management services for large-scale, complex transportation/transit projects.

  • Proven experience in organizational development, leadership, program management, client service management, and business development activities for major transportation/transit clients and projects.

  • Continuous design management responsibility, including managing design services during construction and interfacing with state and local jurisdictions.

  • Recognized for developing and nurturing relationships with key clients.

  • Experience in client pre-positioning activities, team and proposal development

  • Team-oriented, capable of working effectively with operations, project, and marketing staff at all levels.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-building capabilities, and internal/external networking skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and other relevant software programs.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.


Competitive Salary and Benefits Package:
 

  • Compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000-$250,000.
