Caltrain, in coordination with the City of South San Francisco, CA, is preparing to replace its existing South San Francisco Station with a new center boarding platform that will connect to a pedestrian underpass. The project consists of track work, signal work, a new 700-foot center boarding platform with amenities, and connectivity to a new pedestrian underpass to accommodate foot traffic from the new platform to Grand Avenue/Industrial Way. The project will significantly improve safety and will provide increased connectivity along Grand Avenue for the City of South San Francisco. The improvements will also make the station fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
